http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,572 ... latestnewsLooks like freedom of speech for conservative Christians is gone in any state where gay marriage is legal. The majority opinion is being silenced. So much for tolerance from the left, they must silence those that disagree so they can feel justified.
Could you imagine a gay person being fired if they said church marriage is outdated and should not be allowed? Never.

There are more than enough cases of people being fired just for being gay Ryan, check it out.
Of course knowing how "unbiased and truthful" and of course with no hidden agenda, I'm sure the Fox News story is completely accurate. lol

Your analogy fails. I see a pretty substantial difference between being told that a ceremony you're taking place in is 'outdated' and your entire existence is 'deviant'. If a manager demeaned an employee's core religious belief, however, they should be similarly disciplined. I don't care how "apologetic" your tone is when you're telling me that I'm "immoral", then you're creating an antagonistic workplace. If God truly was compelling that young man to speak out as he did, then God apparently has a plan for him that doesn't include working at the airport Brookstone.

Sometimes it is hard for people to keep their mouths shut.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2K8_jgiNqUcMaybe Brookstone could have told the guy he was entitled to his opinion, but there's no need to voice it with co-workers in management. then let him keep his job. if you work in retail, you are going to work with a lot of gays anyways. most of them are not athletic college girls who are just experimenting.
gay marriage as a legal issue and gay marriage as a religious issue are completely different issues. you're free to join whatever church you want. The legal aspect of it has to do with property ownership, the legitimacy of heirs, taxes, checking accounts, and hospital visitation rights.

don't blame the law. blame Brookstone. Brookstone had perfect liberty to not fire the guy.
when you engage in chat with a co-worker or distant relative, do you ever tell him his wife is a

, or a psychopath, or big trouble, in a serious non-joking way? has anyone ever told his co-worker or relative they see a few times a year - in a serious way - that her husband is a total jerk or creep or loser? It really isn't a freedom of speech issue.

Vadala claims the woman, whom he declined to identify, mentioned four times that she had married her partner.
seems like a double standard to me

It sounds like he was baited. Visiting manager or The Brookstone PC Police?
If someone told me four times in one day what they had for dinner last night, I'd probably tell them to shut up. But you can't do that in this situation or lose your job.

Hm. Having dinner. Getting married. One of these things I do every day. One of these things I do (hopefully) once in a lifetime. What's wrong with talking about getting married?
I know lots of straight women who can't shut up about their weddings either. Doesn't make me justified in telling them they're 'deviant' and 'immoral' at work.

many chicks talk incessantly about their weddings, husbands, or grandkids with other chicks at work.
