Congratulations to Brian Powers, Monique Smith, and Nickie Antonio on their victories last night. I'm looking forward to working with all of them on Lakewood's challenges.

Everyone who participated- by running, volunteering, or voting, helped contribute to a our local democratic process, which strenghthens our city.

Well said, Mayor.

Congratulations to Brian Powers, Nickie Antonio, and Monique Smith. Mike Dever, you will be missed, and thank you for your service to Lakewood.

And, thank you Ryan Patrick Demro, Dan Shields, and Jared Shapiro for your dedication to Lakewood as well.

Congratulations are also in order for John Kamkutis, Betsy Shaughnessy, and Ed Favre who were elected to the Lakewood City School District Board of Education. While they each ran unopposed, I believe that the large number of votes they each received demonstrates the ongoing trust and support Lakewood has in this school board, administration, faculty, staff, and the Lakewood City Schools as a whole. Thank you, Lakewood. And, it is interesting to see that John garnered an even 7,000 votes.

And, of course, congratulations to Judge Patrick Carroll, a class act.

Congratulations to all winners!

It will at times be a bumpy ride, but Lakewood is counting on you and will help support you in the assuredly difficult and demanding times ahead.

Everyone looks forward to participating and helping to “contribute to a (sic) our local democratic process, which strengthens (sic) our city“(Ed Fitzgerald) in the coming year/years during your tenure at City Hall.

Many would hope you proceed with the following in mind:

Your responsibility and culpability is clear:
While serving as the city’s lawmaking body, Council also monitors the operation and performance of the city budget.”(http://www.onelakewood.com/CityCouncil/Default.aspx)

Who’s interests you represent and who’s concerns you are to respond to is laid out in the City Charter:
Council members serve as their constituents’ links to their local government. When a constituent has a question or concern with city policy or services, they are encouraged to contact their ward Council representative, or any Council at Large member.”(http://www.onelakewood.com/CityCouncil/Default.aspx)

Good Luck and again,

Congratulations to all winners!
