Thank you, candidates

I just wanted to take time from my early lunch to thank all the candidates on Lakewood's ballot today. Running for office is a sacrifice of time, money and energy and I appreciate the commitment.

However, I do hope that those who do not get elected continue to be involved in civic groups, forums and organizations and remain active in our great city. Folks sometimes feel the only way to serve is by being an elected official. We all know that this couldn't be further from the truth.

So, thank you and congratulations to the winners. For those who come up short, thank you and please remain involved in our community.

Sincerely

David--- I second your statement. Regardless of ones political leanings it takes a candidate to promote the issues. While it's easy for some people to view a campaign as casual sport, only those who have been in the life know of the commitment of personal and family life that it takes to enter elective politics.
Anybody who has presented themselves as a candidate for our local offices absolutely deserves the highest accolade ---- and that would be a ballot cast.
There's gonna be some depression and grumbling tonight, but ALL candidates---------you make our City work.
