With the great interest and success of the Car Show in the summer, maybe taking the Bailey's model car show idea and making it something of an event for "us". (1/25th or 1/32 scale type)

Just a suggestion...comments or ideas? ..

When we moved to Lakewood in 1958 from Pennsylvania, as an only and sickly child, I was so lonely.

As a consolation to me, although my parents could ill-afford it, just about every Friday (Dad's payday, I learned later), I was able to purchase a model to build.

I built ships, planes, and of course, cars.

Although most of those models were relatively inexpensive, once in awhile, I was able to get a bigger one.

Still have a few models around here somewhere.

One of my favorite kinds of models were the little tanks. We painted those right out of World War II photos and put them into dioramas.

But Mark, I do have a confession to make about those car models though. I was pretty impatient. I just wanted to get them done to see how they'd look. Oftentimes, I would not assemble the motors. I'd just glue the hood shut to save time....

Unfortunately too, when we got a bit older, my friend and I used to sometimes do demolition derbys on his kitchen floor, ramming our cars into each other to see which one lasted the longest...

I had a lot to learn about life.

Back to the banjo...

Yo Gary I just get these odd ideas constantly, and sometime I'll air one. It's just a thought. I used to do 2 things for the most hours on end, play horn with records and build model cars.
I miss doing both but I get the "rush" from playing keyboards at any rate.
I'd have to build one from scratch now myself, tho now I'd have to use a magnifying glass for everything,
