I can't wait to hear what the donation to the shelter will be!

I thought I had heard a flat donation of $1,000 just like last year.

I was wondering is this $1,000 a dog charity?

Does Missy get $1,000?

Who else?

This was posted on the last Lakewood Alive newsletter from 10/6:

Spooky Pooch Parade proceeds will again benefit Downtown Lakewood revitalization efforts and the Lakewood Animal Shelter. Last year's gift of $1000 was the largest unrestricted donation received by the Shelter in 2008.

What specific downtown "revitalization" projects? I thought Lakewood Alive got over a million dollars to help with foreclosed homes in Lakewood-what is going on with that and why can't all the money collected today go towards animal rights? This is absurd.

You know the other thing that is absurd is that Lakewood Alive does't post here and seems to detest the LO yet more articles of LA appear in the LO than any other group. Why is that? Why aren't they baking cookies for a local dog rescue or doing true charity here if they utilize the LO like they do, knowing the LO is dedicated to helping ALL of Lakewood?

Rhonda started this parade and why is she shut out of it? Why are they taking credit for that donation to the shelter?

Missy didn't even get invited to the parade until someone (not even on LA board's) sent out a generic email, and the same email was sent to other rescues NOT even in lakewood. No other group in Lakewood but the shelter got money. And I too heard it was a flat $1000.

I bet if the dogs could do more than bark they would ask to use the money to help their abused and neglected friends! woof!
