Mayor leaving? So soon???

Post by Ryan Salo »

Here is a so called quote from the Mayor from another Lakewood site.

"Finally, it's possible that I may be appointed County Auditor due to the emergency situation currently involving that office. I'm sure some people won't like that, and some will be happy about it. I have no plans to move out of the city my family has called home since 1929. I own a home here, I'm raising my kids here, and I'm staying here."

I'm glad the endorsement pieces hit before his official announcement. It may have meant less coming from someone with one foot out the door.

Quick question, if the mayor leaves and a city council rep is appointed then could we have an appointed mayor and an appointed council person serve for more than 2 years?

Congratulations Kevin Butler.

Looks like the "Dream Team" has activated their superpowers.

Don't take this wrong, but I like Kevin, he's a nice guy.

Ryan

You raise interesting points. The first that some elected officials find it easier to have
dialogs with "Harvey the Rabbit" than actual voters.

It will be an interesting fall in the city of "stepping stones." Maybe we could just turn
the city over to LakewoodAlive, at least the people running the city will FINALLY be
answerable to the residents!

FWIW
