Does anyone know what might be going in on the corner of Spring Garden and Detroit?

Its a Dunkin Donuts and its supposed to have a drive-though.
I'm a bit surprised at how close it is to the sidewalk and how both sides of the building at the corner have no windows.

Actually, it is a DD and Baskin Robbins as well.

I had heard that rumor. My kids are thrilled but I'm not sure that my waist line will love it. Guess the drive through would have to loop around the back. It really does sit right on the sidewalk but so do the surrounding businesses.

I believe that new businesses are required to be close to the sidewalk to match in with the existing style of Lakewood and it's many storefronts.
My oldest boys pass the building on their way to Harding every morning and have informed me that they will be eating breakfast their everyday. I do hope they plan on getting jobs to pay for their donut habit.
I am sure once the social security building is built across the street DD will keep pretty busy.

Yes, that and the police mini-station a few doors down.

Ohhh... Zing... I am sure we kid. I am sure government employees eat more donuts than police officers.

I will say I went past it a few days ago. It does look like an odd building. But I guess it beats the crumbly parking lot that was there before.

Just glad it's not too close to Warren & Madison. Donut Pantry and Malley's will continue to get our business for the products that that one shop is offering, though I may visit the Dunkin when I have a kid sleeping in the car and am desperate for a caffeine fix - definitely a step up from Burger King, but not a huge leap. If the kids are not sleeping, I'll still be going in to one of the locally-owned coffee shops instead. I really prefer being able to ask that my liberal latte be steamed to below-skin-scalding temperature with 2 or 3 little ones underfoot.

I'm glad someone mentioned the local businesses that cover the same food categories.

Not to mention the Dairy Queen just down the street.

I've been wondering about that; surprised anybody nearby was okay giving up that parking lot.

I think that the parking lot belonged to the church.
