My, albeit limited, research does not definitively state that a fascist must be on the extreme-right. Look at the first line of that page:

Edit: Setting that all aside for a moment, I'm actually not able to agree with Bill...or Jim...

Obama's not the first, and I'm not sure that Bush 43 was the first either.
Now, if I'd read the words "American's First Communist President", well, that would be different.

So if you all are so opposed to other systems, please tell me how America hasn't drifted from being a true democracy.

We lost the one person, one vote with the Electoral College. We've lost everything else along the way.

A true democracy would be more reflective of socialism than anything else and that idea has most of you doing chicken little.

I thought we were established as a Republic, not a Democracy.

What did you look up to get that definition off dictionary.com? I looked up 'republic' and the #5 definition I found was a philosophical dialogue (4th century b.c.) by Plato dealing with the composition and structure of the ideal state.

Check out all the definitions on this pages. Also if I follow you're line of logic then we should discount the definition of republic because it is a compound of other words so all of them would define the government, correct?

Actually, I was just wondering where you found that line. You specifically mentioned dictionary.com, but when I didn't find what you wrote, I decided to ask.
