Hi, our church is looking for a location in Lakewood for a charity car wash. Unfortunatly I have received more nos than I can count :(

I was hoping that someone else may have an idea of a local business willing to help out?

Thanks, Kim

The following may also have space available or able to point you in the right direction, in no particular order:

Matt,

Very funny.

Kimberly,

You should probably not contact me for this, but Matt has offered his driveway, hoses, buckets, detergent, and towels to dry cars. He's very generous that way, and it's consistent with his campaign promise to do so for ANY organization that wants to do a car wash.

He also has a free taco night in his kitchen on Wednesday nights. Fortunately, today is Wednesday, so you and all your friends are welcome to sample TONIGHT! His beer selection is good, but you must be 21.

Steve,

Stop by and bring your friends. The address is 15500 Detroit Ave. Please call ahead at 216.529.9454 as seating is limited. Tacos are no longer free ... but grab your Roosevelts and click here.

Jim,

Wrong branch of government, but I get it.

Anyway, don't you mean EX-elected official?

hahaahahahahahahahahaha

From what I hear, the Quick-E Mart by Edwards offers a great selection at a reasonable price.

Locally owned, too.

Jim and Steve,

No beer. But, we do currently offer Frutista Freeze to go with your tootsie-frootsie ice cream:

Thanks for the info. I sent out some emails and hopefully will hear back from some people. I was brought in on this kind of late so I'm running out of time. The wash is Saturday July 25th!!!

Kimberly,

Have you tried contacting the city for space at a park? Whether it be Lakewood, Madison, Kaufmann, etc. etc. I'm sure that the city has a good idea of what's going on in the areas and what can be done.

Hopefully the Mayor or someone from City Hall will read this and help out, or direct you to someone that has a solution.

Mickey at Around The Corner, might be a good call. The Masonic Hall, The Schools, 56
West, the Beck Center, Ganly has an empty lot across the street, that was going to be
a hand car wash, that is now for rent with running water. Lakewood Senior Health
Care Campus, Giant Eagle, come to mind.

Good luck.

Masonic Temple, The schools, and the Beck all said no. Does Around the Corner have a lot and isn't Ganley going out of business? I will try the others though.

Stan,

Seriously. Steve and I do not have a disagreement, we are just experiencing yet another minor bump in the road. There can be no doubt that Stephen Davis has done many wonderful things for Lakewood, and should be given more credit for the safe, clean, and fun activities taking place throughout the City. But, when there was a possibility of obtaining a grant for “free taco night,” Steve refused to produce the promised matching funds. So, we are moving on, and are now working toward getting the necessary funding for his backyard Holiday Festival, aka, "Light Up Steve's Backyard."
