Couldn't make the Council meeting last night.

Was that on the docket?
How did that go?

I've been wondering about this... hadn't heard anything recently. I saw a lot of downtown businesses with supportive signs in their windows.

The Citizens Committee to Allow Leashed Dogs in Lakewood Parks will hold an informational meeting at 9:30 a.m. July 11 at Lakewood Public Library Main Branch in order to further discuss a proposal to permit on-leash dog walking in Lakewood's parks.

You didn’t miss much. The Public Safety Committee hasn’t even met on it yet which means there are no new developments. Although last night Bullock announced the Committee meeting will be Tuesday, July 14th at 6:30, somewhere in City Hall.

Keep in mind this proposed ordinance is not to allow leashed dogs in Lakewood’s park. It is not a guarantee. This ordinance just puts the power to make the decision as to whether dogs can be in the parks or not in the hands of the Public Works Director, that is all.

I took the kids to Webb Park last night. There were two dogs running around unleashed and having a good time chasing a tennis ball. I have no problem with that as there is a nice stretch of green space between the tracks and playground.

There are dogs in the parks every day: leashed and unleashed.

I need to read the docket. Thanks for the update.
