Maybe Lakewood should ask to be included in this study

Hi,
LA is getting 17 fully electric Mini Coopers for their police department. Cost $10 per month per car. BMW wants feedback. Lakewood weather and conditions are different that LA's. Maybe if someone at City Hall sent BMW a request, Lakewood could get the same deal.

As far as I know, the Mini-E's distribution is extremely select currently. Of the thousands who applied for the lease on the first run of these, they only granted very few to people. And those people had to sign some serious paperwork regarding usage, press, etc... it's a test run to the fullest extent.
I am surprised they are offering a fleet to a police department. But definitely NO WAY those cars are leaving CA at this time.

Hi,
Well, if your sure we could never get them then we shouldn't waste the time and effort to let BMW know that there are 50 states in the US and Lakewood could provide them with vital additional data on their cars. It's a test to the fullest extent? How's the car perform in weather under 50 degrees? LA or California isn't going to tell you that.
It is frustrating to see such a defeatist attitude that people fell we shouldn't even try. Remember: You got to play to win!

Are you calling me defeatist?? ARE YOU??
Seriously, no. I am not being negative or saying that no one should try. Have at it. I am kind of a car freak and I am just telling you what I know about the Mini E and its release.
