Jim,

Great photos. Thanks for sharing.

The following photo is illustrative of Ken's love for ensuring that the Lakewood Public Library is a fun place for children ... as well as a foundation for learning and appreciating our culture … and much, much more:

Thanks for including the second picture, at first I thought he was the one wearing the blue shirt (in the first photo). The second picture helped me sort it out.

As Kenneth Warren leaves the meeting with a heavy heart. The Rocky River director
of the library asked, "Ken, did you ever think you last week would be like this? Do
you think your board is up to the task?" Ken looks down, as the director asks, "Why do
you wear a dead white daisy?" With that Ken looked up with a twinkle is his eye, and
said, "It is like a good luck trophy. Just ask her alter ego LPL."

Absolutely great pictures Jim. Kind of sad too. I hope Ken chooses to stay in Lakewood - he is such an amazing person. However, I wish him much success whatever he chooses to do.

Hi,
Mr. Warren, I respect you. I am a better person because of you and I'm certain many if not all who are in contact with you would agree.

Thanks for your many years of service to our community.

Best wishes in all your future endeavors and if I can ever be of assistance do not hesitate to contact me or my family.

Ken, wrestling the bear.

Today is Kenneth Warren's last day at Lakewood Public Library and in Lakewood, Ohio.

Tomorrow he will be gone off to New York, and I hope peace of mind, something he
has not had for many years now. For some strange reason, a few seemed to really
dislike Ken for starting the Lakewood Observer, with myself, Steve Davis and crew.

They began to make his life more and more uncomfortable. They would call Ken upset
that he had NO CONTROL over me. No control over the open community paper. No
control over their miserable little personal agendas. A few in particular, so called
civic leaders stood by the sidelines watching and even encouraging the BS. They
preferred no conversation. back room dealings, perceived grabbing of power, and
ideas, and most important to them, to build their egos.

I feel there is nothing more important than keeping and attracting good people to
Lakewood, getting them energized, and empowering them to stand on their own, I
think it will be important to understand what happened to Lakewood's greatest mind.
The person that never said no to anyone. The big thinker who understood Lakewood
and its residents far better than anyone I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
A person that laughed when people dare to move out of Lakewood to Leakwood. I
hope that by looking deeply into the loss of Ken, and how it happened we might be
able to stop the next leader that claims to "love Lakewood more than any place in
the country." from fleeing.

Ken, much love from a person that you have had a major impact on. You and I made a
pact a long time ago, that while I was publisher of the paper, and you were director
of the library, I would try to take the high road, and let it go. Well my friend...

When Pinnochio became a real boy, didn't he sing a song something like "There are no strings on me"?

I'm sure it's liberating in so many ways Ken and I have cut chords like that a long time ago. It's a wonderful thing in so many ways.

See I love that now, at this point in my life, I have nothing to lose by saying and doing what I feel, emphasis on I, is important.

That, my friend, is truly the start of a spiritual journey.

Blessings and power to you.

We took many field trips with various groups. This was founders night out, as Stephen
Davis co-founder walks with his good friend Ken Warren, another founder of the award
winning Observer Project around Cain Park at about 2am. We had been checking out
Havard and Lee until midnight and headed to Cain Park.

As it was LEAF Community Night at the Lakewood Public Library tonight I thought it would
be nice to celebrate two of the people that have always been there for it. Ken Warren with
Lynn Rodeman. Lyn is one of the powerhouses behind LEAF Community, and I am sure Ken
would agree, one of our favorite Lakewoodites. LEAF is another one of those programs
being copied all over, and building the Lakewood Brand.

Oh, how silly, that's right, Ken is not around anymore!
