That he will NOT be running for reelection!

I got a call while I was walking around Collinwood, from Council President
Michael Dever that he would be announcing he would not seek reelection.

Needles to say I was very disappointed and shocked. He cited family, work
and other reasons for not running. While I support Mike and his decision I will
be trying all summer to keep him in the race.

Mike thank you for your time and your service.

Recieving endorsements for their run for Council-At-Larger were
Dan Shields
Nickie Antonio
Monique Smith (stay tuned you will be hearing this name much more in the future)

School Board
Ed Favre
Betsey Shaughnessy

Municipal Judge
Pat Carroll

I'm sorry that Dever was the only one to fully understand what the LightSpeed boxes would mean.

I'm sorry that we will be losing Dever's expertise in infrastructure.

Mike Dever has done a great job in his years on Council and I'd like to thank him, too.

Mike has been terrific on Council, and especially in the role of Council President. His knows the politics, but never let them get in the way of serving the city. His pragmatism and temperament has allowed the talent on Council to work with the talent in the Administration to get serious work done without so much of the nonsense we have seen in the past.

I wish he would reconsider, but I have to thank him for his service, and wish him the best of luck.

Steve
