Who needs real names anyway, When you can just call AT$T pretending to be the cops and I bet they will give up the info. ;-)

A proposed U.S. law would require Internet service providers to store information about every user of their services and keep that data for at least two years, in a bid to crack down on Internet-based predators and child pornographers.

The language of the law may even apply to owners of home Wi-Fi routers, according to a digital rights attorney.

There is a natural tendency for governments to become more intrusive and repressive. At one time I thought creeping statism could be halted or reversed. I no longer think so.

The Obamanation will first resembe Mussolini's Italy and then something far worse.

Bill, I don't know about the Obama link. So far as I can tell this is two reps from texas who are in the pocket of big telecom. Who know why they want this info but I bet the big carriers could care less about our kids.

The two reps are Republicans.

Anyway, from now on everything is Obama's fault since he is president.

Since we can't edit anymore I'll have to add the "l" in resemble in this post.

Good Bill.

I can buy the now that he is president then all is his fault. As long as you blame all the problems of the last eight years on bush. ;-)

I would think it would make it easier for them to comply more liberally with federal requests for information. Who know what else this information is going to be used for.

In this new digital economy data is money.
