Barack Obama And The Return Of Slavery

Obama has quietly removed the "mandatory" from his proposed National Service Plan. I suspect that he would still like to enact some form of indentured servitude but realizes the time is not yet ripe.

Hi,
With all due respect, I have to ask you, Mr. Call to please stop and take a deep breath. Your man (and party) was in control of everything for most of the last 8 years. Our government has a history of spending money like a drunken sailor (quoting McCain). However Bush and his supporting Congress (including McCain) changed that. They spent money (our tax dollars) like a drunken sailor on crack. President Bush has a history of bankrupting every company he touched and he quite possibly may have bankrupted America.

So, please, Mr. Call sit back and if you will not support the Obama Administration, at least hold you comments back for a few months. Let the guy take office, still months away from him doing anything. Given the whole your guys put us in, please show some cooperation and let’s work together to solve some of these problems.

I am certain Obama is not going to make us slaves any more than Bush has.

Lynn posted the other day that she sensed a spirit of cooperation towards America similar to that we experienced after 9/11. Please take a breath and catch the spirit.

Thank You, Sir and have a nice day!

Bill, Your bitterness is showing through. Clam down and enjoy the socialist paradise. ;-)

There was no spirit of cooperation after 9/11. There was only a temporary postponement of the usual partisan vitriol, a very temporary postponement.

I am not angry or bitter about this election. I voted for John McCain but I am glad he lost. He would have been a poor president.

I am pleased that an African American has been elected president. It is another small step toward a society that does not judge people on the color of their skin. We will all be the better for it.

My opposition to Obama is not based on party. It is based on ideology.

You need to understand that Barack Obama has clear contempt for the democratic process, the free enterprise system and the Rights of Man. He has a Marxist mentality. That mentality will show itself in his economic policy, his social policy, his judicial appointments and his foreign policy.
His dangerous policies should be opposed before they are implemented not after they become law. Then it will be late.

The honeymoon is over.

I've seen the breathless screeds about this topic on other right-wing sites. To me, it seems more like a fault of putting information on the site before it's been fully proofread. A crime of over-transparency, and imprecise wording.

It sounds more like an editor clarified the actual policy rather than changed it wholesale in the face of criticism. Heck, if the Obama administration is going to back down and shift policy every time the right-wing blogs start shouting, then they should be absolutely thrilled.

I don't recall anything approaching the level of information we're getting about the transition from prior admins. We're watching a work in progress, and it's fascinating.

Both candidates offered visions of increasing participation in civic service. We'd be having some version of this thread no matter what. Frankly, your concern and criticism would be better pointed at how we're going to pay for the first $4000 of college costs for everyone who participates in this program.

What exactly do you have against giving our youth some civil service training? Think of it as the CERT program, writ large. The fact that conservatives keep wanting to think of this as some kind of military force shows the narrowness of their worldview. Think more like AmeriCorps or the Peace Corps, not the Marine Corps.

Hi,
For history's sake, Mr. Call, could you identify the hours which covered the honeymoon period. It must have been so brief I missed it.

Hi,
For clarification, Mr. Call does this mean you oppose the military draft?

How would you classify the current administration's massive take over of the banking and financial industries? Marxist, socialist or just covering the backs of the good old boys?

Moment of clarity from a 3 year old...

I turned to my wife and said "Hey did you know Obama's a Marxist?"

The three year old then said "He's not a Marxist, he's my friend"

Can't we all just get along?

Honeymoon over?

The ceremony has ever happened?

OUR genius president is still sinking the ship.

Please, tell you you are not going to push the Rush L's "Obama caused
this recession..."

Please.
