Those $400 John Edwards haircuts were a bargain compared to this.
I can't wait to hear how right wing shills rationalize this.

“The campaign does not comment on strategic decisions regarding how financial resources available to the campaign are spent," she said.
But hours after the story was posted on Politico's website and legal issues were raised, the campaign issued a new statement.

"With all of the important issues facing the country right now, it’s remarkable that we’re spending time talking about pantsuits and blouses," said spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt. "It was always the intent that the clothing go to a charitable purpose after the campaign."

I was glad to see none of this is going on in the Obama campaign because when I donate to a candidate I don't figure that my donations will be used for clothing the candidate. But none of this is suprising as Palin thinks the Alaskan taxpayers should pay for her family to travel around with her. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27310999/

As I recall, Kerry had his 'hairdresser' flying around the country in 2004. I guess the Dems only care about their hair.

I prefer Wink's on Madison - 12 bucks :D

Much ado about nothing. John Edwards had $500 hair cuts, I would think Barack's suits create a pretty nice bill.

What got me was the comment, "We will give them to charity."

But their is no proof that the Obama campaign has such bills.

The thing is that she is billed as a "joe six pack" and a "hockey mom" and that she is part of regular America. I mean come on they showed her shopping at Wal-Mart, people that shop at Wal-Mart don't get their clothing from Neiman Marcus. If Palin was good enough to be governor why did they have to doll her up? Sounds a bit elitist to me.

The other part of it is that the only piece of clothing that's decent is the red leather jacket. All that money and that's the only decent piece.

Joe Sixpack and Joe the Plulmber aren't as well turned out I'll bet.

I remember an interview with Michelle Obama where she explained how she begged Barack to buy a new pair of shoes...since his pair of shoes were two years old and worn out.

~$500,000 in clothes for the two ladies, and not mentioning the "middle class" once, I'd say that's not news.

So Jennifer I guess you believe health care is a privilege? And when people with no health care go to the hospital they should be turned away because they were a)born with a pre-existing condition and can't get healthcare b)are disabled c)are the child of a poor family d)lots of other reasons? Are you a christian by any chance? No need to answer the last one.

Danielle,

Yes, I am a Christian and no, I do not think health care is a privilege. I think it is something that the federal government should not control. It simply does not work and we are not a socialist country.

Jennifer you are the only people in this country who work hard. Peope who work hard for minimum wage don't deserve what you have. You are a far superior person, especially because you're a Christian.

Jennifer,

The government just bailout the banks, in essence nationalizing them.

We have government controlled schools, which before anyone says are for the most part wonderful.

We have social security.

We have government ran fire departments.

We have government ran police department.

Should I go on?

Our tax system is set up to redistribute the wealth, that is the way it works.

So exactly which of those do you think we should give up since you are so anti-socialism?

I forgot to ask. Jennifer if the government does help some people with healthcare how will they get it. How do you propose that people with pre-existing conditions get affordable healthcare? How do the disabled get healthcare? How do the elderly? How do the poor children, who through no fault of their own were born poor? How does the parent working a minimum wage job that provides no healthcare pay for healthcare?

I am interested since you say healthcare isn't a privilege yet you also say the government shouldn't get involved. And I am taking from your comments that medicare and medicaid should be scrapped.
