US SUPREME COURT OVERTURNS LOWER COURT RULING

The US Supreme Court has sided with the SOS Brunner on the registration.

The justices overruled a federal appeals court that had ordered Ohio's top elections official to do more to help counties verify voter eligibility.

Here is the key issue:
"Instead, they said they were granting Brunner's request because it appears that the law does not allow private entities, like the Ohio GOP, to file suit to enforce the provision of the law at issue."

The Court told the OGOP that they didn't have standing to file the original action as a technicality, so in essence they indicated to the GOP that if you are able to have an individual file the action then the Court could hear the merits of the case and then rule on the acts of the Secretary of State.
Now most of you may say that this is just the GOP continuing on with the fight, in part you are right, but, what this will (or should) do is provide a clairification as to the role of the SOS regarding verification as defined by the Voter Act.
