What do you really know about Barack Obama?

Our experiment in self government has been under siege since its conception. Always there have been groups and individuals working to undermine and destroy it. With the best intentions of course.

Their underlying assumption was that the State knows best. Their first and last commandment is and was: Obey the State. Their goal is a compliant, subservient and dependent populace.

With super majorities in the Senate and House a Democratic Party dominated by its most extreme elements will have their way with the constitution. Led by a man contemptuous of Democratic principals they see the imminent realization of their fondest dreams, the end of our Democracy. Self government replaced with the rule of the bureaucracy, a dependent, subservient population.

Be afraid, be very afraid.

Bill--- You have exactly described the ultimate agenda of Nixon, Reagan, Bush regimes---ultimate control of the state over the individual.
It finally came to its ultimate fruition in the midnight passage of legislation to prevent one from ending one's life in dignity.
The goal throughout of the Republican godstate has been to make individuals in complete subservience to the state from conception, through one's spriitual life on earth, and even at death.
As I watch the newsreels of the McCain/Palin rallies and look at their record in office and campaign statements I can only conclude that they wish to carry on and fully implement their final solutions of control.
I can only make a secular prayer that they are defeated and America can once again reenter the real world and have a government and society that once again respects the individual.

Stan and Jim -

Remember that term thug and how it was thrown around last summer. The connotations that were underlying the whole thing?

Just like they're trying to blame the whole economic collapse in sub-prime loans while the suits sold the mortgages and made money with multiple sales?

Oil prices are because of the Arabs, economic collapse was the fault of the borrowers and thugs are ruining Lakewood.

Really, you know how those Section 8 people are?

It's really getting old, very old and very tired.

It's not working republicans, we're not stupid and we don't believe any of you or your buddies in DC.

Oh, by the way, anybody hear about the finding about the firings by the W admin in the Justice Dept.? How's about that Maverick gal and the firing of Monegan. The report came out yesterday.

I secretly suspect Bill Call doesn't believe a word he is typing. I think he wants McCain but is having fun watching people get red in the face when he posts stuff like this. He has seemed far too reasonable in the past when posting about politics and money. When his best and most valued news source is a fake Clinton site, you tube and a right leaning magazine, you know you are in for some fun reading at best, annoyance at worst. :D

The Republicans are simply asking for another 4-8 years. They had EVERYTHING in their hands for 6 of the last 8 but find ways to blame the "liberal elite" for all the problems and woes of the last 8 years. They are convinced if they had just 4 more years then they might actually become fiscally conservative again.

If they can just get two more justices in the Supreme Court (as is likely for the next President) then it won't matter what party is in power. They will have locked up the court for another 20-30 years. Loverly. No wonder they are so desperate.

I decided last night that I needed to take a deep breath and step back. The words and actions coming out of the republican party and it's supporters in the last couple of weeks is getting more and more absurd and hateful. It is desperation and by getting upset I am just playing into their hands. So I am going to try and ignore all the blatantly political stories coming out and just stand firm in the my choice of Barack Obama for president. I know that when my children ask me about him (which I am happy they do because it means they want to understand what is going on) I can be positive and tell them what he believes.

So anyhow I will not let the negativity of the republicans get me down, this country doesn't deserve anymore negativity. It's time we move forward and move past the hate that has engulfed one party in this election.

Oh yes, fear the thugs who will send you emails and call in to your radio show. Quake in your little bunny slippers over the lawyers who terrorize you with lawsuits if you do something as innocent as air an illegally false ad.

Please.

The United States Military Commissions Act of 2006[1], also known as HR-6166, was an Act of Congress[2] signed by President George W. Bush on October 17, 2006. Drafted in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision on Hamdan v. Rumsfeld,[3] the Act's stated purpose was "To authorize trial by military commission for violations of the law of war, and for other purposes."[4]

Section 7 of the MCA was found to be unconstitutional by the Supreme Court on 12 June 2008.[5]
