So by now I am sure you have all received you DVD entitled Obsession. As I am sure you can tell this is a classic display of hate/fear mongering. I wonder who is paying to scare us prior to the election?...

I haven't gotten one, I don't even know what it is.

We got ours and I was tempted to watch it just to understand the people who would send out stuff like that better, but then I decided that tossing it in the trash was a better option. Considering all my children have friends that are muslims I didn't want them to even see the packaging laying around since it was so hateful.
Sharon be grateful you didn't receive one. Just looking at the fear mongering propaganda on the cover made me ill.

I got it a few weeks ago in the Sunday Des Moines Register, and I've yet to watch it.

David, it was actually in the paper? That is so very disturbing.
And that story made me sick.
One of the things I love about raising my children here in Lakewood is the fact that they are exposed to many cultures and people and because of that they are pretty much oblivious to different people and their religions. I am glad that they have no hate and can just accept people for who they are not for labels. But sending out those kinds of DVDs does nothing but spread hate and we need to stop all this hate and fear mongering and accept people. I just absolutely hate prejudice and really I hope that this country can stop the hate. I am really hoping that if Obama gets elected it will be the first step in healing racial and cultural divides.

Yeah, it was in a bunch of papers nationwide, stuffed in with the coupons.
A lot of letters have been sent to the Register expressing outrage that they would do this.

Here ya go.... 21 seconds in....... at least they are not condemning all of Islam.... Has anyone watched the entire film? Are they calling for Franklin D. Roosevelt style interment camps for Muslims?

I think Obsession would fall under that category:
"In September 2008, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) asked the Federal Election Commission to investigate the Clarion Fund's DVD distribution claiming that it was an attempt to influence the 2008 US presidential election. As evidence of inappropriate political bias on the part of The Clarion Fund, AP cited Patriot News of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania reporting "that a Clarion Fund Web site ran a pro-McCain article before it attracted notice and was taken down."
