Afraid of talking?

Why on earth should any president be afraid to talk with anyone?

Don't we want a president that can sit at a table with any world leader, look them in the eye and say, "Well it is not going to happen that way, HERE is the way it will happen."

or

"What are your concerns, here are ours..."

It does not legitimize anyone. If anything it would show them as the two bit dictators that they are.

It seems that John McCain is not only afraid to talk with other nations, but other candidates.

FWIW

I think his handlers have told him not to talk to anyone. He is confused most of the time and they feel that in this age of sound bites he will show his true nature. Palin is in the same boat.....The Titanic.

I still stand by my VP pick of Lieberman. He will rear his ugly head soon.

Keith Olberman was the first I heard with the Palin will soon be gone rant. His take was they just need to keep the news off of lack of policy, same old policy, and the war. ANYTHING is better than talking about the problems.

I would have to think to bring the conservative base back one more time, it will need to be someone even more conservative.

However it alls comes down to very poor judgement.

1) Why would he ever think the core of the Republican Party would accept Lieberman.

2) Poor judgement with Sarah Palin last minute decision. I am willing to bet it came down to: woman, NRA member, woman, christian, woman, change woman. The woman will vote for another WOMAN.

Maybe one reason he is afraid to talk to Barack or others is his temper. This was missed by many in the debates "Horseshit"

I guess it is the best they have. After all I hear many talk of Palin in 12!

Also think of the judgement we have heard and read. GWB right, McCain right, Palin the real deal, the war is right, bailout good. Is there any credibility left?

the news clip of the debate had McCain saying, "what are you going to say when the president of Iran says, "we will wipe israel off the map"? "no you won't"?

I've never seen a news clip of the president of Iran promising to wipe israel off the map. I can imagine an American President being at a loss for words when confronted with that question, or any question. you can't consult your speech writers and handlers during a conversation between heads of state.
If the President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says to the President of the United States that Iran will wipe any place off the map, I imagine the American President should simply say, "If you do that America and a number of european powers will bomb the stuffing out of Iran".

David,

Did you watch that video?

She was talking about Obama switching shoes with her to see what it was like to have a son serve in the army and have someone vote to cut funding.

This is your idea of losing your temper?

I watched the video. It was on the Today Show this morning as well.

Funny thing is, she is criticizing Obama's vote while her husband voted the same way.
