It may be too late--and if they do, it will look like they treated her as so much disposable symbolic material (which of course they have)--but I am reading some things online that say mccain campaign insiders are REALLY worried.

I have heard that as well. They are all running scared after seeing how bad she is at speaking.
I do not think however they can dump her. That would be such a blunder (not that she is not already such a blunder) that it would solidify Obama's win.
There best bet now is to stay the course (hehe) and hope she only makes a moderate fool out of herself and McCain.

I've been reading the stories too but I doubt the rumors are true. Despite the obvious fact that she is not up to the challenge of being vice president there are still people that are enamored with her. Seeing interviews with her she is clearly in over her head but the right seems for the most part unconcerned. I guess things might change on Thursday after she babbles incoherently through the debate but once again I don't think the base will care as they are just blindly following her and McCain. I have also read the rumors that she will some how bow out of the debate, perhaps a family emergency will arise.

So Stephen when she bumbles through the debate on Thursday will you admit she is not up to the challenge of being vice president or will you find another excuse of how everybody is being too hard on her and being unfair to her?

"You know, planes from Russia fly over Alaska. Where are they going?" End of that statement. HUH!
Next statement "That Poutin, what is he thinking?" Right of the blue this was stated and this was the whole statement.
Couple of french fries short of a happy meal there.
What do you want to bet that her daughter goes into labor on Thursday?

I wouldn't be surprised if something happens to send her back to Alaska for some sort of emergency. The thing about that is that if that does occur I will just have to wonder if she is really ready for the second highest office in America. I am crossing my fingers though that nothing happens because I feel the vice presidential debate is essential to the process.

If any of that were true why would Palin stand by and let everyone think she is a idiot.

So a B.Y.O.B Debate watching party at Stephens house Thursday.
On a slightly more serious note than the comment above.
Are there any local bar owners who would be willing to keep the music down and host a debate watching party Thursday night?
I know myself and at least 4 other guys would be willing to patronize.

In the spring I watched the debates in Sullivan's and The Grafton Pub, both places were nice and quiet. I am sure some other Lakewood establishments do the same.

A bunch of us are probably going to go to Sullivans after the Lakewood Dems meeting.
Join us on Thurs and 7:30 - it's candidates night.
We have one of the most active Dems clubs in the state.

It's ludicrous to think that Palin would bail at this point. The damage that would do would be much greater than she possibly could do to the ticket by staying on it.

A friend of mine suggested that Palin will take her baby to the debate. How can Biden not look like a mean old man beating up on the mother and her baby. Then everyone will coo and make gaga noises for an hour and a half.
