Convention Highlights

CSPAN is the best place to watch the conventions in my humble opinion. CNN and MSNBC like to hear themselves talk and cut out many of the other speakers like Govenor Strickland.

We have all seen the heavy hitters, Kennedy, Michelle Obama, Mark Warner and Hillary. But there are many other great speakers. Who have you liked.

Monday night I really liked Jesse Jackson Jr. speech when he talked about how Denver is in the shadow of the mountain top (in reference to MLK's most famous speech) Really nice moment.

Tuesday night Dennis of course gave a barn burner of a speech. I also absolutely loved the speech that the Govenor of Montana gave.

What were some of your favorite parts?

When Hillary Clinton mentioned the son of Stephanie Tubbs Jones and the daughter of another Senator (whose name escapes my mind at the moment) were in attendance...and the CNN cameras switched to a shot of the two standing up and the daughter reached over and they held hands for a moment and waved.

I think that was very symbolic.

To me it symbolized the passing of the legacy and significance of both Barack Obama's and Hillary Clinton's historic campaigns. A young black male and a young white woman, united under the same cause, the same party, the same values and hopes that these candidates stand for. Young people, who under tremendously hard times of losing loved ones, stood up tall and stood up united....regardless of race or gender.
