It is astounding how often they show interviews on the news and radio with Iraqis and the Iraqi is speaking English. Sometimes, even if the Iraqi is speaking more clearly than the average Cleveland teenager, the news will have a translator repeat what the Iraqi said afterwards.

So sending books is a good idea. Many Iraqis already speak english. Many of them already took their kids to ballet lessons, drank western alcoholic beverages, and enjoyed western television programs before the Invasion. i will send them the rest of my Mike Hammer paperbacks.
