They are depriving hundreds of millions of people of tomatoes just because about 200 people got sick. This seems hysterical. Retailers who stop selling tomatoes are inferior.

The tomatoes may as well be canned or juiced or Sauteed.

This is kind of weird. If 200 was the number that should freak us out in death toll, shouldn't cars be banned from usage until they work that death by accident thing out? :-) I find it ironic that fast food places that sell food that WILL kill you if you eat it often enough has a hang up on tomatoes. We will stop selling those to heart-attack magnet citizens but this healthy tomato...well, that's frightening. :D

yes

people are more likely to have a minor car accident on their way to buy these tomatoes than they are to get food poisoning from the tomatoes. The seriousness of the FDA warning about tomatoes must be destroyed!

I agree. Or, better yet, they should simply add the "Risk of Death!!" quotient on any product you buy, be it deadly tomatoes or cars or video games. That would be helpful. Lets us make the decision of that McWhopper is better with or without the deadlification of an added tomato.
