The IRS site will give you the exact dates.

Actually, the IRS site hasn't been updated with the latest news, that was announced today. Direct deposit payments will start on Monday, a full 5 days ahead of the original schedule.

"We will start a bit earlier. We're a little bit ahead of schedule, so we will start right on Monday with direct deposits," Paulson told Reuters in an interview.

I think this was done to boost sales of Grand Theft Auto IV that comes out on Tuesday. Sweet.

Great idea!!

People who don't gamble can help stiumulate the Chinese economy by buying that bigger TV set. If you already have the TV you can save all the time and hassle and just mail the check directly to the Chinese Embassy in Washington D.C.

Here is the Internal Revenue Service's schedule of payments: http://www.irs.gov/irs/article/0,,id=180250,00.html

We could spend our payments at:

Lakewood Hardware (Mulch, peat moss, and garden supplies.)
Geiger's (New suits and ties.)
Rozi's Wine Shop (Nice bottle of wine.)

Does anyone have other suggestions?

David,

I realize that the IRS has a new payment schedule. I wanted to see the old outdated schedule, so I could have an approximate date of when I will be able to spend my money.

HMMM Property Taxes or Mulch
Property Taxes or Mulch
Property Taxes or Mulch
Property Taxes or Mulch

What should I do Glen Palmer? I heard you're an expert on these matters!

:x Property taxes or mulch??????

Bill-- this refund is supposed to act as a STIMULANT to the economy. A property tax payment or mulch pretty much short circuits that idea.

Now, I bet Glenn has some nice power tools that would serve as a much better multiplier if you bought them.

Stan,

You got something against mulch making companies?

I may be biased but MULCH seems like the logical answer. If you plan on freshening up the flower beds perhaps some Benjamin Moore paint could freshen up the house also or use your money to buy tomato cages and plant your own tomatoes. Why don't we all use the money to spruce up our homes perhaps that would help make our city more beautiful !

Expert, You make me blush !

In 2001 I didn't get a stimulus check because I made too much money. In 2008 I won't get a stimulus check because I made too little money.

No mulch for me.

Sigh....

Thanks for the IRS site, now I know approximately how much we will be getting. We will be using our money to help with a down payment on a house.
