I've been watching a lot of Hell's Kitchen and Benny Hill Show episodes lately. It appears that even when British people are tall they look much smaller than Americans. I don't know if they are just proportioned differently or are just photographed at odd angles.

Probably shot at odd camera angles. I work with a Brit and she is very tall (6'3" I believe).

Benny Hill died 16 years ago - his humour died long before that

I never get sick of seeing him run around at 10x speed or slapping the bald head of that old dude.
That said, he did have one really funny bit (to me as a teenager when I last watched him, that is). His bit about the feminist dictionary was a hoot. I have no idea if it would hold up today.
Worse, now I have that end-of-show song in my head. Thanks a lot. Can't get rid of it.
