PD reports that Sherrod Brown could be one of the candidates for Barack Obama's vice presidential seat.

He and Obama's combined age is less than John McCain's.

As much as I like Sherrod Brown, I don't think he would be the right guy to run with Obama. I would much perfer General Clark - although granted now he is a Hillary supporter. But General Clark is a 4 star general who got us in and out of Kosovo without the loss of a single American life. He has the respect of the Muslim world for stopping the genocide of the Muslims there.
I think the race with McCain will be tough. McCain is going to throw up military experience. McCain for all his background graduated from the Naval Academy at the bottom of his class. (I've read his biography.) And he spent a great deal of his time in Vietnam as a POW.
By contrast, Clark graduated with honors from West Point, was a Rhodes Scholar and has Masters Degrees in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics.
and served admirably in Vietnam and was the NATO allied commander in Kosovo. He has also earned the respect of our European allies.
So I hope that either Hillary or Obama select Clark as their VP choice. I think it will balance that military experience and help us to get our troops home quickly and safely.

General Clark has many fine qualities.
Clinton 1, Reagan, Teddy Roosevelt, Hayes, and Lincoln proved it doesn't really matter what national level experience a candidate had.
The Clintons came into office during a pretty easy time. The cold war was over, but they didn't drastically reduce the size of the military. They raised the top tier income tax rates a bit just as the IT boom and Stock Bubble were in full swing. Gasoline was really cheap, so the economy could replace manufacturing jobs with jobs producing sprawl and McHousing for a while. Everybody got more credit cards than they could handle. The proliferation of Debit cards probably had a multiplier effect on the M2 or M3 money supply. They endorsed ideas like NAFTA and the WTO with no significant reservations. NAFTA and the WTO were enacted during the Clinton Administration. The big fast money of outsourcing provided plenty of kickbacks and campaign donations for both parties.
And so, Hilary's experience isn't that significant. Not that she is running on her experience. She is running on Bill Clinton's experience.
