Goodbye Mitt Romney

Mitt Romney has dropped out of the race.
The news keeps going on about whether McCain can convince 'Conservatives'. I'm not exactly sure what a conservative is supposed to be.
Generally, when Conservative claiming office holders run with the ball they have gotten us into disasters. Reagan borrowed 2 trillion dollars and threw a party. Bush I and Bush II totally did more of the same. It seems the only rational reason for invading Iraq was to generate kickbacks for Bush and Cheney's families.
Romney immediately defied his political history to gain this elusive and somehow essential 'Conservative' backing. He joined the NRA and alluded to not liking gays. He may have attended a NASCAR race. Is that all it takes?
Whatever the core 'Conservative' group is, they have a bad resume. The difference between Eisenhower and Reagan is that Eisenhower was a President and Reagan was an infomercial.
Whoever the Republicans run, it would be nice if this candidate realizes this 'Conservative' minority needs him more than he needs them.
