a Todd Rundgren concert review

I went to the Todd Rundgren concert last night. It was at the Allen Theatre. there were many old people there. They walked around with plastic cups of beer and wine. I didn't know there would be alcohol there. That is why I chugged a Pabst Blue Ribbon in the parking garage.

Then I realized the drinks were not complimentary and decided against it. The audience were mostly upper middle class middle aged people. Someone resembling a strange british woman I knew stood against the wall near my seat. The stage was sparsely set with just two guitars, a bass, and a drum set.

The show began late. Todd Rundgren is good at telling anecdotes between songs. Thanks to his superior singing voice and guitar playing prowess Todd Rundgren doesn't need to play many of the more enjoyable songs from his impressive back catalog. He can play the less impressive new songs with impunity and still please the fans. He can even play songs from the Utopia albums. He doesn't even need to set up the sound system so the vocals aren't mumbled by the guitars.

After the show my date and I left immediately. I'm not familiar with the parkin garage situation so parked a lot further than necessary. It was spooky walking back, but we were not robbed.
