I recall her coming to the City Club of Cleveland to speak.
This news is truly saddening. Let's hope her efforts live on with the survivors.

It is so sad when a good human being leaves this planet before their time.. The world and Pakistan needs more people like Benazir Bhutto.

I remember my daughter doing a report on her - one of her first big reports. I kept telling her that if a woman (actually Indira Ghandi as well) could become prime minister of a Muslim country - here in the US a woman could become president. She was indeed a woman that all women could look up to.
However, I was really irritated today. I must have been listening to too much of Ron Paul. I kept hearing our news stations talk about who the US thought should be their new leader. Who we support. Whether or not we thought they should go ahead with elections. Isn't that how we get in all this trouble in the first place. Isn't it the people of Pakistan who should be making these decisions? The US pushed Bhutto into going back and running for election. To some extent her death has just raised hostilities in the middle east a little more. We should learn from experience - we don't do well when we meddle in the affairs of another county.

what we need more of is Tolerance. We used to have more tolerance. We used to think Pinochet of Chile and the Shah of Iran and the Marcos family of the Philippines were ok guys to lead countries. Pervez Musharraf graduated from Christian High Schools and University. He is a moderate guy. We may as well let him be the Moderate prime minister of Pakistan.
