ATLANTA (AP) - Civil rights icon Andrew Young says Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is too young and lacks the support network to ascend to the White House.
In a media interview posted online, Young also quipped that Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton has her husband behind her, and that "Bill is every bit as black as Barack."
"He's probably gone with more black women than Barack," Young said of former President Clinton, drawing laughter from a live television audience. Young, 75, was quick to follow his comment on Bill Clinton with the disclaimer, "I'm clowning."
Clinton, Edwards, Biden, Giuliani and McCain do not excite me.. same ole same ole

Stephen - besides the fact that you posted this in the Lakewood section, and it has nothing to do with Lakewood - what is wrong with Andrew Young not supporting Barak Obama ? Charlie Rangel, Jesse Jackson and Quincy Jones do not either. I haven't seen it in writing, but I bet Alan Keyes and Ken Blackwell don't support him. Where is your mindset that all blacks must support Obama ? Should all women support Hillary ? All Mormans support Romney ? All former mayors of NY support Guilani ?
No one is expecting Obama to be the next Martin Luther King but give him his due - he is the second black man to be seriously running for President and the first to have a chance at winning his party's nomination. Revel in the historic nature of this event, no matter who you support. How many of us have said we will never have a black president in my lifetime; we will never have a female president in my lifetime; we will never have a hispanic president in my lifetime - man, it is your lifetime and there is a good chance that one of the first two of those might come true. Doesn't that speak to the wonders of American democracy

2nd sign of the coming Apocalypse.
I agree with this post so much, it makes me want to go back and read other posts of yours. Maybe I have been missing something.

Stephen - besides the fact that you posted this in the Lakewood section,
David, do not let the small things in life bother you.
what is wrong with Andrew Young not supporting Barak Obama ?
Nothing! The title of the thread is "Color Blind??". The term color blind would suggest that Andrew is not seeing color in this situation. just sayin

Where is your mindset? I never suggested that all blacks should vote for Obama.
