Mayoral Campaign - When Is It Mud?

I'm just curious.
The Fitzgerald campaign has said:
1. Crime in Lakewood is increasing and is a serious problem. The Mayor's response was to insist that crime is not increasing in Lakewood. Furthermore, the Mayor's campaign has filed an election complaint stating that saying crime is increasing in Lakewood is a violation of election laws.
2. That Mayor George still wants an income tax increase. The Mayor's response was to insist that he never wanted an income tax increase. Not only that, the Mayor's campaign stated that it is a violation of election law to say that the Mayor wants an income tax increase.
3. That the City is facing a budget deficit and that City financial reserves have declined substantially in the last few years. The Mayor's campaign says that the City is in great financial shape and that it is a violation of election laws to state that it is not.
The George campaign has said:
1. Fitzgerald is a lunatic. No response from Fitzgerald Campaign.
2. Fitzgerald is unstable. No response from the Fitzgerald Campaign.
3. Fitzgerald can't hold a job. No response from the Fitzgerald Campaign.
4. Fitzgerald is a liar. No response from the Fitzgerald Campaign
5. Fitzgerald has violated campaign finance laws. Fitzgerald denies the claim stating in part that, crime is increasing, the City has budget problems and that having an opinion about the state of the City is not a violation of campaign finance laws.
6. Did I mention that the George campaign claims Ed Fitzgerald is a lunatic?
Mud?
