I hope that this vehicle begins saving lives in Iraq.

it is a low-capital war. it is a human intensive war. I mean, the part of the war that is after the previous part of the war we got victoried.

these MRAPs are half a million dollars each and go through gas like gatorade.

for the price of an MRAP we could be shipping the Iraqis 50 pick up trucks with a few armor plating walls in the beds. They could drive in small convoys with six guys in the back to shoot in all directions with machine guns. It is a human intensive security effort. Iraqis work cheap. The insurgency is not a capital intensive insurgency. It is a human intensive insurgency.

I hope that by the time they have approved this vehicle, and produced enough of them that they could make a difference, that we'll no longer be in Iraq. Most assuredly it would save the lives of our servicemen (and women) to get them out of harm's way....
