Ok so there is a squirrel (maybe 2) that live in the tree in my back yard. They've taken to digging little holes now all over my back yard. Anyone know what can be done to stop them?

It's the same technique you can use to put raindrops back into the sky.

You live in squirrel territory. If you trap and release the squirrels, other squirrels will take over the empty territory.

If you leave a couple of terriers in your yard 24/7, you'll be guilty of cruelty to animals, but you may not have any squirrel holes. Or squirrels.

If people recommend using predator urine or some such thing, remember that animals cross predator paths in nature every day. It doesn't stop them, but it may make them look.

I would recommend enjoying the fact that squirrels are busy telling us it's time to prepare for winter and marveling at their industrious nature. And I'd look at it as having a naturally aerated lawn.

Bigger question: Did the squirrel get a permit before digging? Lakewood is very strict about that.

Did squirrels call to mark the utilities?
