Shell, Saudi venture to build top U.S. refinery

This is good news for consumers.

LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Royal Dutch Shell and Saudi Aramco on Friday said they would go ahead with a $7 billion expansion of the Port Arthur, Tex. refinery that would create the largest U.S. refinery and one of the biggest worldwide.

That is not good news. That is just more of the same old crap. Good news would be to spend 7 billion to bring cold fusion
to the masses.

Since it is the equivalent of building the first new refinery in the U.S. in more than 30 years. It is hardly the same old crap. This is good news for those of us who use gasoline. The flux capacitor is just a bit out of my price range.

This is not good news, this is foolishness.
Now we go into business with saudis to rape our land of a quickly diminishing resource when that money would be much better being used for renewable energy sources.
Ridiculous.

Why would company invest $7 billion on cold fusion energy? Currently, how big is the cold fusion market (total revenue)? What potential percentage of the energy market could cold fusion capture in 10 years? What applications are currently working with the cold fusion technology (car engine, furnace, lights and etc)? How would a company like Shell justify this type of investment to its shareholders (long term and short term)? How would cold fusion work with a car and pwoering my house? Just curious...

The subject was about Shell and Aramco increasing refinery capacity in the US with a $7 billion investment.

You don't seem to want to get this - a refinery to refine what? WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF OIL!!!!
We need to change the way we live and the way we consume and the way we continue to abuse the planet and purge her basic resources.
No, a new refinery is not good news. Oh and by the way, consider the damage already being done to the gulf because of offshore drilling.

To refine 600,000 barrels of oil a day instead of 325,000..
