Many thanks to whomever put together the candidates question/answer section in the latest issue.

I try to keep up with what is posted online, but having the whole thing laid out in print was exceptional.

That's got to be the most informative election information I've ever seen in print.

David Anderson did the work and deserves the thanks. I could have sworn he was credited in the paper...

I'm a bit uncomfortable receiving credit for simply cutting and pasting questions and responses into a four column table.

Credit should be given to those who:
1-Contacted the candidates
2-Identified questioners
3-Provided and accepted the questions and answers
4-Bought the server, ink and paper

However, if my hour spent doing the compiling proves anything it's that a true community newspaper benefits from folks like me who add 60 minutes of personal time once a year to the thousands of hours dedicated by those who really deliver the product.

SO maybe our virtual debate experiment wasn't a complete failure?

That was an hour that others didn't have/couldn't give, so yes, I give you a lot of credit for stepping up to the plate. Your hour made life a lot easier for the newspaper production people and readers.

And Jeff-

We learned a lot for the "next time" - should there be one. We sure found a lot of bugs, didn't we? That was worth the effort. Everybody eventually got a chance to read the answers and that was great.

So no, not a complete failure.

DL.

Perhaps you can help answer a question that had just occurred to me. My compilation of the candidate survey questions and answers included all questions, answers and blank spaces if answers were not provided. However, Mulready's question 7 was only answered directly by Fitzgerald. Why was this question and answer omitted from the LO publication and pdf version?

Thanks

My assumption is that the answers ran over 1,000 words, the space initially promised.

Jim or Brian could better answer your question.
