Why do you suppose they are still getting so much media attention and outreach from the community? Sadly so many children lose a parent to violence, and we never hear about it like we are in this case. Someone is building a new house for this little boy as well as collecting for his college fund...which I don't understand that because the Victims of Crime Fund will pay for that. My pregnant cousin lost her life the same way and both her children may attend high school (private) and college for free.

Anyway, I just don't understand what makes one case more desirable to report and support than another.

Are you certain the Ohio Victims of Crime Fund pays private high school and college tuition?

That's what my cousin, who is raising her sister's children, told me. If you know otherwise...maybe I'm confusing it with another fund? It had something to do with the State of Ohio.

It would seem to me with the limited dollars that fund has available to handle the thousands of claims submitted, that would be an expense that would quickly empty the account.

Check with the Attorney General's Office, because I have never heard of them paying for education, perhaps they are thinking about the grants that are available through the AG's office.
