People walking and talking with artists at Silhoutte Dance and Fine Arts Studio and Class Act Resale.

I would like to thank MAMA - Madison Avenue Merchants Association for staging a fun event on Madison Avenue. It was fun walking the street talking to others walking the streets. it shows what happens when Lakewood business owners work together.

Jaycees - Another fun wing event. What a perfect brand builder. As I walked Madison and saw Lolly the Trolley go by. All I could do was think what a perfect event to have the same weekend. Madison Avenue lines the streets and Wing eaters see a vibrant street.

Bike Lakewood - What can be said, The perfect vehicle to enjoy all of the activities and Lakewood.

One thing that has made me smile this spring, is the number of LAKEWOOD run civic groups taking matters into their hands, and doing it without handouts from the city. Without looking for tax dollars. Lakewood residents and business owners that have channeled frustration into positive actions.

Damn I love this city and my neighbors.

As a part of Lakewood’s parking meter modernization effort, BikeLakewood is proposing that soon-to-be-unused parking meters be converted into bike parking. In the meantime....

Last year BikeLakewood donated $200 toward the bike rack at our new YMCA. Here it is in action....

By the way we also saw three beautiful new bike racks installed at our Library addition, but we did not stop for a picture. Thanks Ken, et. al....

At Around the Corner, last stop before our ride across town. We all agreed their black pepper wings were quite tasty....

By the time we got to Sullivan’s Tom Bullock, his friend Melissa, Ryan Costa and Mike Deneen, had joined us....

Jim, we had a ball. You’re right, we had the perfect vehicle. The right-hand lanes on Madison provide the best street biking in Lakewood, because motorists like the wider left lanes better. Both directions, from 117th to Riverside, everyone’s happy. We need to leverage this. We encourage MAMA to contact us for some ideas. We'll help any way we can. Detroit too...

And we also had a perfect “sunshinyâ€Â

I wanted to thank everyone involved in these events. I finished the MAMA walk and jumped into the Tour de Wings late. I even won $50 at the MAMA walk! woo hoo!

I've driven by many of those MAMA shops a million times and never set foot inside before. I never realized how many interesting stores we have here.....and Joe's corned beef is really good.
