Stopped by the Beer Engine for their soft test. Real opening Wednesday this week.

The placed was packed, and fun was being had by all.

The food look good.

All said the Burgers were good.

Justine Cooper and friends were there enjoying the burgers and beer, I tried the booze in the form of a scotch.

Good luck from us to you.

Talking to one of the owners tonight, they took the sign down after reading this board. They felt they wanted to be part of the community and did not want to get off one the wrong foot. These are good people who really want this to work. I hope all that commented on the sign, repay them, by stopping in, thanking them and buying a dinner or two.

I'm happy they took the sign down. I'm looking forward to seeing what they replace it with.

The owners sound like good community members dedicated to Lakewood. My wife and I will check out the BEER ENGINE when it opens.

OMG take that picture off I told my husband I was going to a church group! just kidding. The beer was so good I hardly had room for the food but brought home the leftovers and were gone in seconds! I will let Jeff do the review but their list of burgers is long! Nice place! They actually took the sign down because they did not feel like it represented them, not because of the deck!

I absolutely love a great hamburger, I can't wait to try it out.

Also, kudos to the owners for recognizing the sign issue and responding to the community.

They have every single thing you can imagine on a burger and then some. Heaven for me tastes a little like warm goat cheese on a burger but they even have one with pierogies on it!!! Nice servers too!

Goat cheese is one of my favorite things on a burger. Now this definitely sounds like somewhere I need to be. :)

It's the former Lenard's/Titanic. I think Arthur & Madison.

That's right. Right next door to the Dollar Bank.

I am very pleased that they chose to take down the sign. Sounds like it is a nice place. What other food do they have besides burgers? I like burgers but I'm curious if they offer other sandwiches. Can't wait to try them out and I won't even have to drive, that's a plus!

I will have to admit that if it is as good as everyone is saying...

I'm sure you will find Danielle and I there a lot this summer escaping the chaos of having ten children. And the fact that it is at the corner of our street, just far enough from the kids, but we still can see what they are doing, that is if they are planning on opening a patio...wishful thinking???

Thank you Beer Engine for changing your sign. You do have a challenge but I think from what I've seen you'll be able to come up with something a bit more sympathetic to the scale of the neighborhood that will still bring people in. I wish the owners of businesses in my neck of the Wood were as willing to be good neighbors.

So, even though I'm not a big fan of burgers or beer, I'll definitely check out the Engine...and bring along all the burger and/or beer fans I know.

If their response to the sign is any indication, these people have a real committment to the neighborhood and to customer satisfaction. I live on Arthur and am planning a neighborhood night out there for our street. Based on the reviews - we can't wait!

Thanks for reading the LO!

Justine

My quote came from the silver head man I was speaking with while the rest were enjoying their food. He said he was the father of one of the owners, this would be the guy that owned Buckeye Brewing and they had been following the controversy on the Deck.

This is when I said, I would help them with a new sign, to show our commitment to new businesses in Lakewood.

But with 4 owners, a busy night, in a loud place, i could have gotten that wrong.
