Congratulations, Jim and the whole museum team, on an enjoyable interview and great photo, which managed to capture among many others a Lakewood Observer Tee Shirt in all its brand-building power.

All, and the other guy Jim. I shouldn't have even been in the photo.

This was an idea, and a ton of work by DL Meckes. This was during a time we tested many of the theories that would be used on other sites, and in the Observer Project. It usually went like, "Hey DL I have an idea..." She has been a best friend since Kindergarten. I cannot even imagine how many times she has heard, "Hey DL what do you think about..." Which equals, DL how much of your time may I borrow. Priceless in my life, but I am blessed with friends.

When it was first launched it caused enough of a stir, that people actually wanted to build the building featured at the site, next to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I declined the offer, and others. At some point sanity has to step in.

Recently Tom Mulready of Cool Cleveland dug up the site and asked me about it while having a coffee at Phoenix Coffee. I believe he loved the urban legends as much as the site and put it in his e_letter CoolCleveland.com. It was reborn. To subscribe to Cool Cleveland mailto:coolclev@add.pr00.net

But it really needed a quick upgrade. DL's business 4Design has been very busy since the launch of the Observer, so we called on Webmaster Dan Ott, now employed at my graphics company, to redesign the actions of the site, taking full advantage latest technology. Dan turned it around in one weekend.

Charley Newcomer, came in as the asst. curator for a period of time, and has once again taken up the duties. He runs the T-Shirt company AGS PrintWear, and is the drummer in SkinnyMoo.

So this is very much like the Observer, and a key to life. Surround yourself with talent better than you, give them enough room to do their thing, make it fun and magic happens. I am just lucky that they are also my friends too.

Would that be Walt's July 7th, '07 issue?

No, I think Walt puts out a issue every May in commemoration of the famous Group 30 Baker Trail expedition-- where as we all remember, Walt, camouflaged as a bush wearing a smokey the bear hat and on the trail of rare fungus, was inadvertently confronted with a naked girl holding a tube of Cheez Whiz for the first time in his life. If I recall, Walt made a lurch for the Cheez Whiz.

The salacious entry made by tent candlelight into his backpacker's journal on that long ago night blossomed into a full blown annual newsletter and backyard round circle where everybody has to tell the others where they met Walt for the first time, what did they think of Walt's cooking, his pants, etc.

I believe that a straight line can be drawn between Walt's experimentations with the hopelessly young and freaked and Jim's T-shirt Museum.

Way to go Obie-all this time I felt that Group 30 marked me as a loser for life until you showed us the way.

Walt and the school system should have been sued for what he did to us.

I see a much cleaner and straighter line from Jim Burton to the T-Shirt Museum.

Jim allowed us to dream.

Walt made us live his nightmare.
