If the new School bond issue is approved the Lakewood Schools are supposed to get 47 million dollars from the State. If the rules aren't changed in the next two years and if the schools do get the 47 million dollars:

1. Do the schools get a 47 million dollar check?

2. Do they get payments over time?

4. Is the 47 million dollars money the schools would get anyway?

5. Does the State make the bond issue payments up to 47 million?

6. What happens to the 47 million dollars if the schools actually get the money? How will it be spent?

They will use the money to knock down existing buildings, then rebuild them.

It is strange how that one school on Detroit (Garfield?) had a front that was good enough to keep, but the rest of the school had to be demolished.

Doug-- I don't think that "good enough to keep" in a physical sense was the criteria for keeping the facade of Garfield School. I think the decision was made because of it's unique architecture. And, in respecting the past that way I assume it added a slight bit to the cost as compared to tearing it down and replacing it.
