The Root Cafe presents Ibagari Chocolates founder, Nancy Martinez Madrid. [Lakewood, Ohio]--Nancy Martinez Madrid will be at the Root Cafe at 5 pm on Sunday, November 17, to introduce Cleveland to her line of handcrafted chocolates from Honduras. Come to the Root cafe to meet Ms. Martinez, try her chocolates and hear her story as a Honduran chocolatier and international business woman.
The Root cafe will be carrying six types of Ibagari Chocolate bars starting this weekend since Ibagari recently secured their licensing to do business in the United States. Ms. Madrid has had her eye on Cleveland as one of her breakthrough markets after visiting the city in 2023 and falling in love. She hopes to open a chocolate store in Cleveland one day.
The chocolate features Honduran cacao and the beautiful packaging expresses the rich natural heritage of Honduras. The name Ibagari is a Garifuna word that means ‘joy’. Garifuna is a cultural group of people of African and Caribbean Indigenous descent that originated in St. Vincent, then exiled to Honduras before moving to Belize. The product line that Ms. Madrid created in Ibagari Chocolates represents the natural and cultural richness that is Honduras.
