After the restoration of power from the storm the spawned the tornados the City of Lakewood propaganda department published the following comment on the Lakewood Facebook site on Aug 10:
" A temporary cell tower was placed in the northeast part of Lakewood this morning to help residents communicate via phone, text, and data. Telecom providers continue to work to restore their permanent transmission sites. "

Since the City was inferring it was responsible for the tower, I requested the following information:
“All internal communications and invoice[s], and payments concerning the following City of Lakewood Facebook on Aug 10 at 12:44 pm referencing the deployable FirstNet Cell Tower shown in the post.”

The response:
“I have learned that the cell tower that you are referencing was placed by Verizon through the County Emergency Management program. Lakewood did not request it or have it placed.”

This is the second time the city has attempted to take credit for acts of others. The first was their claim the city was responsible and paid for the reconstruction of the intersection of Slone and Detroit, or nationally known as US route 6, a federal funded project. When in fact, all the city did was remove the salt shakers and metal trees, another failed attempt of art at the cost of the taxpayers.

We can now assume that not all the claims of achievements by the city that are posted on City of Lakewood Facebooks post are factual. Congratulations to whomever writes these fake claims of glory, they have all the qualifications necessary to be the next White House press secretary.
