The writing on the wall

A little bit of Lakewood history. Cleaning my garage today and finally took the time to look a little closer at the writing on the wall, literally. I have owned this building for about 20 years and had seen these scribbles, but assumed they were just that, scribbles by some kid playing with chalk. I knew that this building has some relationship with Nelson Cotabish, the first mayor of the City of Lakewood (not the village). However, I never paid enough attention to decipher this writing until yesterday. My guess is that this dates from around 1900-1910. Signed NC Cotabish.
