Well, one is in Cleveland on 117th and Detroit but close enough.

The other will be on the Northwest corner of Madison and Warren road.

Apparently the informal "Lakewood" non compete agreement between the Clinic and UH has expired.

Hey, anyone notice the $125 facility fee on their medical billig?

Our eye doctor merged his practice with the Clinic and the fees are 300% higher. Goid thing the Clinic is non profit.

I’m curious how you learned of these 2 centers coming to Lakewood. I’ve done a google search and can’t find anything.

There’s an independently-owned Urgent Care on Detroit, just west of W. 117th. I’ve been there a few times over the years.

Cleveland Clinic loves charging a facility fee. Thing is, in medical billing, there’s a code for the ‘place of service’ that insurance companies use to indicate the usual, customary allowance for a particular facility.

In other words, reimbursements vary between a service being provided in hospital vs doctor office vs nursing home, etc.

My husband’s insurance always denied the facility fee, and CC in turn, always billed my husband.

After contacting CC and getting nowhere, I finally contacted the insurance company and explained my situation.

The insurance company contacted CC and the facility fee suddenly vanished.

Informal? That's news to me.
Only between the Clinic and UH? Also news to me.

Re fees and such, I report back again that we have been more than satisfied with Metro's care and services. Any past negatives about Metro are grossly overstated.

I found the Madison location on the City website while perusing boards and commissions agendas. The building permit application is there along with drawings.

I saw the 117th location plans in an obscure article about redevelopment of the Pizza Hut and Arbeys. Pizza hut is being demolished and Arby's is being remodelled.

Bill, University Hospital Is also a not for profit, as most hospitals are for the tax breaks. They maintain the not for profit status by substracting their huge regular fee for any procedure from what they are paid by Medicare or Medicaid, and call the difference charity. The cost of medicine has gone up due government involvement of the expansion of Medicaid, just like the cost of tuition for colleges due to the four year party loan to students. If it's working and productive, let government become involved, it will become, expensive, inept and inert.

When the college loan program began you could pay for college with a couple of years of full time employment.

All the efforts to forgive college loans has lead to an increase in demand for college loans. $300,000 for a college degree? Why not. It's not like anyone has to pay for it.
