Lakewood Park- Stop The Madness

Foster Pool has been so crowded that Lakewood reidents are being turned away and Lakewood daycare providers are being told there is no room for them.
What's the point of having a great park if residents are shut out?
What's the point of using Lakewood taxes to build facilities that Lakewood residents can't use?
What's the point of adding boat docks, fishing piers and more to an aleady overburdened Lakewood Park?
What's the point of paving greenspace for more parking? More parking means more cars which means more crowds.
How about maintaining what we have.
Sometimes visionary leadership means doing nothing.

Do we know the % of residents vs non-residents who were using the pool when Lakewood residents were turned away?
I actually am curious. I imagine the numbers aren't public but I would love to know residents vs non-residents usage of the pool.

I agree, maintaining, and doing nothing sometimes does often underline visionary leadership, and critical thought.
There is a simple way to correct many of the issues killing this city, and could be done at the same time. We have a space problem at Lakewood Park, and the city could desperately use access to the water. We also have failing schools because the BOE has failed to maintain student levels. They blame birth rate but every charter school in or near Lakewood has a 2-4 year waiting list, and are packed with students.
So, take LCA through eminent domain. Legal use if for a park.
Just a passing thought.

I would never tell you that I told you so, but since some liberals were in denial and rebuked my predication, I am. Check the surrounding cities for their nonresidents pool daily and seasonal pass rates. Only a fool would not realize our pool would be overcrowded when our socialist agenda mayor and city council are subsidizing nonresidents with extremely low pass prices. The City may not publish the information of residents or nonresidents daily pool use or how many did the sell to nonresidents, but they are required to provide it if requested. However, the City of Lakewood has a history of hiding or not providing all the information requested. I agree, additional parking will make the situation worse, and does anyone know what it's going to cost the taxpayers? The streets and infrastructure is falling apart, and the city is subsidizing a regional swimming pool. What's next, provide special bus services to import migrant summers?
