North Shore AFL-CIO fires leader Dan O’Malley; His lawyer says removal motivated by ‘personal agendas’
More power, more corruption . . . you mean you can't buy personal groceries on the Company credit card? What an idiot.

Amy,
I have made some whopping mistakes in my career and my life and I am sure that there may be some mistakes in my future.
I respect Dan O'Malley for his commitment to public service in Lakewood and in the region with the Port Authority.
Additionally, I highly respect Dan for his commitment to the fundamental American principle of unionism and unionization.
I wish him the best of luck in his career.

Not sure how stealing from the Union should earn anyone respect for being part of the union effort . . . this was exactly my point. With more power comes greater opportunity for corruption. Respect is due to those who attain power and reject the effort to take advantage of that power. He lost my respect by acting greedy and taking advantage of those he was tasked to look out for.
Good luck to whomever hires him . . .his career in public service is toast.

With the perfect life...
Dan made a mistake and freely admitted it, and it was not stealing.

If I had a nickel for every "I made a mistake" that I've ever heard . . . .
Never a mistake until you're caught.

Makes life easy eh, sitting in an ivory tower judging all, because having never done anything wrong in life, well you know perfect, and the level all humans need to attain for your approval and pleasure.
Dan O'Malley has never been slow to say when he made a mistake, and let me assure you there were many moments he probably wants back. But he is a an honest, hard working person that comes from a long line of honest hard working family and kids.
I cannot change your opinion on anything, doubt anyone can. But Dan was not charge with theft, nor was he stealing. Dan got lazy, and made a choice in a job with many people looking for faults to amplify and blow waaaay out of proportion. At the same time, he knew those facts, which makes it even more foolish.
But what do I know.
peace

Funny, no ones Ivory Tower is any TALLER than yours, Jim . . .you sit up there judging everyone who has an opinion different than yours. Another reason why the Observation Deck is a joke . .
Dan took advantage of his position and got caught with his hands in the till . . .the facts don't lie. He's lucky that the AFL-CIO isn't pressing charges. And for you to excuse such behavior is ridiculous.

I noted that the cleveland.com posted, "Dan O'Malley was fired from his position at the North Shore AFL-CIO after being accused of misusing the organization's credit card."
