Shouldn't they be building affordable housing?

Bill

It is funny that you bring this up.

My liberal brothers and sisters are confused, they think Lakewood is Cleveland, and we have thousands of acres undeveloped and dying.

A city does not make up for lost tax revenues, by seeking middle of the road. You aim high.

Build quality homes and let market set the price.

Lakewood is only 5 square miles, and City Hall has to squeeze as much out of it as they can, or everyone's taxes go up. Is that home any more affordable with a $1,000 a month tax bill?

As I have pointed out a city is like a boat, it takes on too many expenses it sinks. It is always a balance.

It would be far easier to tend to our schools, seniors and lower income families to generate tax dollars from high end property.

Some of the things being talked about blow my mind. I know the people mean well, but it is not being thought through.

peace

Double triple!

If that development were in Lakewood the City would demand the old houses be preserved and that 25% of the new construction be low income Housing.

They do things differently in other Cities. Where is the low income housing in Crocker Park?

Of course if the City of Rocky River owned a Hospital that employed 1,200, and generated $2 million per year in City revenue they would not have moved it to Lorain county and donated $80 million to private foundations and the Cleveland Clinic.

$1.8 million! Where does all this money come from?
