News of violence erupting on the east side of Lakewood at two bars.
Sunday morning one person was stabbed another hit by a car after a fight at the East End Pub at 11922 Madison Avenue.
Also happening yesterday morning, two people were injured when shots rang out at Corky's Place on Detroit Avenue.
No one was seriously injured in either case, and both incidents are under investigation.
WTF.
Of course when a bedroom community is changed to a bar based economy...
This has upset some... When a community changes from a bedroom community to a destination city, crime goes up.
Adding alcohol to the equation rarely helps in crime or common sense. (Yes I go places and, yes I drink.)

Most of those bars have been there for decades. The name or ownership or management might change once in a while.

The continuity and transferability of Ohio liquor licenses is one part of this problem.
'Four individuals that were not "seriously" injured...'
....however, bullets discharged from a firearm do not just drop harmlessly to the ground...
As posted elsewhere, expansion of alcoholic beverage service to our public right of ways, like sidewalks, only expands the scope of the Class D licenses.
Isn't it time for the City of Lakewood to develop a strategy to reduce the scope of these liquor licenses or slowly begin to retire them from active use.
