Halloween 2020 - Some Amazing Displays Including One's Last Time

We have captured some amazing displays for your enjoyment. Not just some amazing houses in Lakewood but some amazing decorations beyond the city. For the Lakewood group we will be handing out gift certificates for great dining from Woodstock BBQ, India Garden, WestEnd Tavern, Root, and Melt.
With sadness we included the Hegg’s Haunted House at 1608 Merl in Cleveland, which was featured on Good Morning America as one of the Top Five Displays in the country. Sadly this morning at 8am everything is being put up for sale, as the owner is taking a break.
Hegg’s Haunted House “#5 Halloween Display in USA Good Morning America” This morning having an everything must go sale, closed forever.
We found this to be true: while some are coming on strong, some amazing displays have disappeared like the Transformer House and the Star Wars homes.
Coming on strong is 5900 Rousseau in Parma, where neighbors are getting together to put out some amazing and very scary stuff with a nod to the classics.
The Covid House on Clifton
Which brings us back to Lakewood. This year we softened the contest to asking for suggestions, and thanking those that received the most suggestions. Word traveled like wildfire with hundreds of suggestions pouring in. Geil, Spring Garden, Ridgewood. All three displays homemade. Two have added amazing detail and/or built out on a theme. One, Ridgewood went from a massive pirate ship, to a scary chambermaid theme. The amount of work put out by these three teams is staggering, thank you. The others were long time favorites and some newbies which is great to see.
Thank you all for taking part. The Christmas Lighting Contest will be back in its usual form. It was our thought with Halloween on and off and on and off and on, with the pandemic, political nastiness, and less displays planned we would scale this back. But I am hoping for a magical Christmas Holiday Season, where this new strange distance from many very close to others will produce a truly joyous season for all.
